Stop by the Railway Restaurant at 144 South Acline Street for lunch and let the kids linger to watch the many trains roll through the old-fashioned train depot. More than 25 trains pass through Lake City every day!
The Great Outdoors
Take your kids hunting for birds and wildlife-watching on the hiking trails in the woods around Lake City. Following 378 West out of town and turn right on Highway 341 North to visit Woods Bay State Natural Area, where you can see a cypress-tupelo swamp from a 500-foot boardwalk or even go canoeing on the one-mile canoe trail.
Relaxing on the Green
Have a picnic on the Village Green in downtown Lake City, and enjoy soccer or Frisbee among the friendly and peaceful surroundings of Lake City's historic downtown. (Hint: you can see the trains from here too!)
